The successful applicant will provide therapeutic support to Fellowship House members while also delivering individualised ICLS supports aimed at enhancing independence, recovery and community participation.

As a Community Mental Health Recovery Practitioner, you’ll work side-by-side with members, helping them explore their recovery journey through creative, therapeutic, and peer-led programs. This is hands-on, relational work where your professional skills meet a community-focused heart. You won’t just support recovery, you’ll be part of the story of transformation.

Your impact

  • Provide 1:1 counselling and group supports that foster meaningful psychosocial growth.
  • Co-design recovery goals with participants, promoting agency and voice.
  • Collaborate with Recovery Support Workers, volunteers, and the broader community to create safe, inclusive spaces.
  • Shape program content, therapeutic activities, and community events that strengthen connection and belonging.
  • Provide individualised psychosocial support to people living with mental health challenges to build independence, wellbeing and community connection.
  • Work collaboratively with participants to identify goals and develop practical strategies to achieve them.
  • Support people to access housing, education, employment, health services and community activities.
  • Assist participants to develop daily living skills, confidence and self-management strategies.
  • Coordinate and liaise with family members, support services, clinical teams and other stakeholders as required.
  • Complete case notes, support plans, risk assessments and other documentation in line with organisational and funding requirements.
  • Advocate for participants and support them to navigate complex service systems.
  • Monitor progress towards goals and contribute to regular reviews and reporting.


Skills And Experiences

What we’re looking for

  • Diploma or higher in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or Mental Health.
  • Experience in therapeutic, psychosocial recovery work and group facilitation.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and non-pathologising practice.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Required: National Police Clearance, WA Driver’s License, First Aid, Working with Children Check, NDIS Screen Check.

This position is part-time offering 3 to 5 days per week.
